June is almost over, and for many of us that means the weather is about to get hot hot HOT. I was in Las Vegas for work last week and experienced hot firsthand…110 degrees during the day is brutal. Anyone live in Vegas year-round? How do you do it?!
When it's crazy hot outside, it's super important to remember to hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. Want a simple, easy, and practically free way to start feeling more energized today? Drink some H2O!
Curious how much you need to drink every day? Here’s your answer:
Drink half your weight in ounces of water every day.
(PS: this is weight in pounds)
This might sound like a lot of water…because it is! What's your number? Grab a calculator if you need, no judgement here (I'm right there with you; there's a reason I didn't major in math in college).
You may be thinking, “Why do I need to drink so much water?” Well, more than half of your body is made up of water, so you gotta get your fill or else things don't work properly.
You may also be thinking, “Won’t I be peeing all day if I drink that much water?” Sure, this might happen at first as your body is adjusting, but it won’t last forever. Another tip (double nutrition tips this week!) is to add just a pinch of salt to your drink. This helps your body hold on to more water because salt is an electrolyte.
